Okay.. I don’t know what’s up with my internal compass. I (again) somehow wound up on the main road while trying to take a short cut. And I was about to walk totally the wrong way while trying to find the train station at Kirkkonummi. Hmm.. maybe I get distracted by the music. At least there was a nice lady in the parking lot of the Prisma in Kirkkonummi who gave me a ride to the station. ^_^

Auri and Mirna came over this morning at 10. They hadn’t slept at all last night. Lol. You could tell it from their eyes. Sooooo tired. But during dinner they both were geared up to go on a cruise again. So we made plans to go in January before Mirna leaves and flies back to Chile. Should be fun.. but I doubt that I’ll get drunk like the most of them will.. (there’ll be a bigger group of us going).

Hmm.. not much really happened today. Work was boring as usual. Pretty quiet at the store. Not many customers for some reason. o.O But they did offer free pulla. So nice with cocoa. ^_^

Egh.. Jaz is begging for me to pay her trip to England in Feb.. I guess I could help her out somewhat. After all, she is going to school and doesn’t have time to work. And now I find out that she’s trying to get some from Ellu as well! Sneaky lil birdie.. It would be nice to see her in Feb though. She’s trying to figure out where she’d stay though.

Eh.. I’m trying to keep up with Alex’s political theories.. not doing a vg job Okay.. moving onto a discussion about disabled people. Something a bit easier for me to grasp onto. And now it’s about jealous boyfriends. Wow, we change subjects pretty quickly.

Okay, it’s late.. and I’ve got work again tomorrow. So I best be off..

Oh and Gubby, Jaz asked me to remind you to look for your Webbie CD.. whatever that means..

I’m in the living room right now. Auri’s dad is watching this sorta funny show on TV.. gets distracted easily Talking about Russians and the Russia-phobia that Finland has..

Well I got a ride to work today, which meant that I was there an hour earlier than I was supposed to. After half an hour of wandering around the mall, I decided to start my shift earlier. There really was no point in me walking around aimlessly for another half an hour when there were long lines at all of the check-out counters. Is that what it’s called? I’m just so used to saying kassa that I dunno what the right word for it is in English anymore. Anyway, loads of people all the time. No time to fill in the Bonus slips, because I had at least 4 ppl in line all the time. Even at 6:15 when the store had closed 15 minutes ago and my shift was supposed to have ended! The whole time I kept thinking that I was going to miss my bus. I thought that it went at 6:26, so when I got to the bus stop at 6:30 I was pretty sure that I had missed it and would have to wait an hour for the next one. I must have looked at the wrong stop when I was checking the timetable because when I checked the timetable at the bus stop, it said that the 35V was supposed to get there at 6:32. I was happy that I wouldn’t have to wait in the cold for an hour. smile Then when I got to Nihtisilta, I started the shortcut correctly, but I must’ve taken a wrong turn somewhere, because the next thing I know, I’m back on the same road where I started from, just a couple of meters down the road. A very weird loop I made. Since I knew the way from the road, I decided to stick to it. Not gonna try the shortcut again. Might enter the Twilight Zone the next time. XP I arrived at the same time as Kirsikka(Auri’s mom) did. She had fallen down last week and sprained her ankle while walking their dog Elli, so she was limping a bit. And hasn’t been able to go shopping for food so we went out to eat. The chicken & goat cheese toast I had was very good. v. full It was a nice little restaurant that we went to.

Egh.. I’m not used to this Linux system. Pretty weird to use. Some of the characters that I’d like to use just don’t work for some reason. o.O Then there’s the fact that MSN Msgr isn’t installed on this computer. sniffle They have it on the computer downstairs but I won’t use that comp until Auri gets here. I don’t wanna bother her parents by asking them to type in the passwords and stuff like that. Besides, when Auri’s here, we’ll prolly be downstairs watching TV and DVDs anyway.

yawn I think I’ll go shower now so I can sleep in tomorrow morning. Well, not for too long since my shift starts at noon. I wonder where the staff entrance is.. I don’t want to be late for my shift.

I just got a shift for tomorrow. ^_^ It ends at 7 and it takes about 30 mins with the train to get back from Kirkkonummi.. Hmm. I should buy another one of those 10 journey tickets..only three left on my current one and I need to use five this week… I wonder if there’s a proper station at Kirkkonummi where I could buy it from. I know there isn’t one in Kilo. At least I haven’t seen one. I should probably tell Auri that I’ve got a shift tomorrow. But she’s on a cruise.. I’ll just see her tomorrow morning and tell her before I gotta go.

Slept for 9 hrs. Haven’t managed that in ages. Although I did wake up at 6 for some weird reason. Then again at 8:10. Maybe because I wanted to make sure that I would get up early enough to make it in time for work today. Inner alarm clock…

Krisi lent me her copy of Bridget Jones’ Diary. So far it’s okay. It seems like this’ll turn out like “First Wives Club” (which I watched last night). I so prefer the movie over the book. It’s funnier. Well, we’ll see if this is like that too.. She also has Bridget Jones: Edge Of Reason. But it’s in Finnish. I don’t like reading books in Finnish if they’re originally written in English. Somehow I feel like it changes the story too much. Not that it actually changes it, but I like to read things in their original language (that is, if I understand it). Another thing I don’t get is why dub movies? Just subtitle them!

It’ll be a bit weird going over to Auri’s tonight and she won’t be there. Then again, a year ago I did spend a week over at her place by myself during the days while she was at school and then had dog training and whatnot. If it won’t bother her parents or grandma, then I might play the piano. Haven’t done that in ages. I miss playing the piano. I feel like I’ve lost the touch to it if I don’t practice at regular intervals.

And I have finished June! Go me.. well, okay, there are still a few ppl missing from the list, but I can’t help it that the invoices for them haven’t come up yet.. I’m already half way into July.. I’m supposed to be counting the nights that ppl from Accenture have stayed here, but the damn network isn’t working. The screen keeps freezing up as well. >.<

So back to comparing the booking and invoices it is..

Yesterday I booked shifts for myself for the whole of next week and I counted on the fact that I could stay over at Auri’s during that time. Starting from tonight. But she called me last night a little before midnight saying that she’s going on a cruise today and won’t be back until Sunday morning. Eh.. ^_^;;

She did say that I could still go over there even if she isn’t there, because her mom is used to having the house full of people and now it’s too quiet because two of Auri’s brothers aren’t living there this year and Auri’s leaving for the weekend.

But I asked Krisi if I could spend the night at her place tonight because I’d feel kinda weird staying at Auri’s for two nights when she’s not there. But I’ll be going over to her place tomorrow. It’s cheaper.

Yes I admit it, I count every penny and try to cut down on expenses. I’m not made of money, even if I have started working. And it’s more fun to splurge on something a bit more expensive and wait a while, than every day on something small..

Egh.. I have a headache.. My forehead feels hot, but I don’t think I’ve got a fever. Just cold hands.. It’s these damn invoices and booking list that are doing this to me.. But I’ll gladly put up with this because what I’ll get out of it later is so worth it. grin

Eeeew.. Just stepped in Bella’s pee. I had to hold her so that my aunt, mom and Jade could get out of the apartment without Bella running into the hall. I had to backup a bit so that my aunt could get past us and voilà.. I step onto the newspaper where Bella had just been. Ick ick ick. So now I’m without a sock (which I washed in the bathroom and it’s drying there right now) and I doubt that it’ll be dry in time before I have to leave for work. >.<

So like I said, I’m at my aunt’s apartment right now instead of at the hotel. There really was no point in me going there today since there would’ve been at least 5 in the office already and I wouldn’t be able to stay there for long. So this way, I’m saving money. ^^ I called Extra (I know I should say StaffPoint but Extra is easier) this morning and I got a whole week’s worth of jobs booked. is happy And almost all of them are in the same place at the same time too. They wanted me to book the following week’s shifts as well, but I told them that I’d call them next Friday and see what my schedule would be like. starts humming “Money Money Money” I actually like working. I still prefer going to school over work, but this isn’t too bad. Now I don’t feel like I’m not doing anything useful with my life. ^^

Whoa.. I just turned on the radio and the first song that I hear (and am still listening to) is “Not Gonna Get Us” by T.A.T.U. Weird. They don’t play T.A.T.U. on the radio for ages and just as I’m thinking about Oliver, they begin playing it. o.O

I’ve found a course I really wanna do. It’s “Scriptwriting and Performance” at U of East Anglia. If I’m accepted, I’ll definitely go there. When I saw that option, I was practically bouncing off the walls. So beats American Studies. Creative Writing is almost as good. Earlier I was getting really stressed about whether I’ll be able to send in my application on time and what to write in my personal statement, but now I’m zen.

Okay.. I think I’ll get going now.. very hungry Lunch didn’t really fill me up. But what can I expect from just yoghurt, an apple, a kiwi and 2 mandarins?

Okay.. still sick, but getting better. Saturday was the worst. My voice was totally gone. Even though I had told the people at StaffPoint on Friday that I was sick and wouldn’t take any more shifts before Tuesday, they kept calling and offering me shifts for Saturday. Can’t they tell from my raspy voice that I’m not up to sitting and smiling for 8 hrs the next day?? o.O

But I did go to work Friday evening and Sunday. Double the pay on Sunday. ^^ But oooooh the lines. It was non-stop. Technically my shift ended at 7:00 but I wasn’t able to close my station until 7:12 so the girl at the info desk modified the paycheck list thingy so that my shift ended at 7:15. ^^

That meant that I missed the earlier train which meant that I wouldn’t be back by 8 pm. On the other hand, it didn’t really matter that I came in later than I thought since someone (who shall remain nameless for now, but you know who you are) didn’t call me like I thought that they were. Now maybe we had agreed that we wouldn’t talk on Sunday and I just forgot about it, or maybe something came up, etc.. Anyway, I spent enough time thinking about it last night while everyone else was watching the Independence Day celebration at the President’s Castle, so I won’t get into it again..

Saw my dad yesterday. He seems to be doing fine. Waiting to get transferred again. Which probably means that he won’t be able to spend Christmas with us. It’ll be the first Christmas that he’s not there.. o.o

Egh.. can’t wait to get a good night’s sleep. I keep waking up to my coughing and I don’t like it. I just hope that this flu’ll go away soon.

My shift at Jumbo starts at 3 and I still have to get some work done before I need to leave, so I’ll leave it at this.. I’ll be back tomorrow though. It’s nice having work. ^_^

I hate being sick. Yesterday I still felt fine (well, besides randomly feeling like bursting into tears) but now I’ve got this really annoying cough that won’t stop unless I continuously drink hot tea. Which means that I gotta go to the bathroom once an hour. rolls eyes At least my eyes have stopped watering now. It’s weird, sometimes I can’t tell the difference if my eyes are just watering because I’m sick or if I’m actually crying. o.O

Anywayz, met Auri and Wind yesterday. Walked around with them and talked. It’s been ages since I’ve been out with friends. I think the highlight of our time together (for me anyway) was when we had lunch and just sat there catching up with stuff. Then there came the episode at the train station. Wind had already left, so Auri and I sat at the station waiting for our trains. Then all of a sudden I burst into tears. Right there, in the middle of the station. One of the very few things that I like about Finland is that no one really notices if someone’s crying. At least I didn’t get the feeling that I was being stared at. Same thing on the train. Even if someone had asked what was wrong, I couldn’t have explained it to them. Well, I missed the train I was supposed to take, but luckily there was another one 6 minutes later which meant that I’d have to run to get to work on time. I did make it though. I was actually 2 minutes early. Not that it mattered much since I still had to wait 10 minutes to get the keys to the locker room. The thing that struck me while on my way there from the train station was that when I had to stop at the lights to cross the road, this late 20s early 30s Middle Eastern guy begins hitting on me (in Finnish).

Late shift? Me: Yeah. Him: Until when? Me: Nine. Him: What are you doing afterwards? Me: Going home. o.O Him: Noo.. let’s go bowling! Me: Can’t. Got work tomorrow morning. Him: Where? That was really weird. Especially since I could feel that my eyelids were swollen from crying and I assumed that my eyes were red. Possibly the weak lighting made my eyes look normal.. Then at work I got a txt msg from Auri which I read during my break inviting me to stay over at her place for a week. Again, made me want to cry. I really need to sleep more. I can’t afford to randomly begin to cry, especially at work. At least tomorrow I don’t come in before noon. :) And I have a Sunday shift! w00t! Which means that I get 130€ for 7 hrs of work. Plus the 10% holiday pay or whatever it is. Fun fun. ^_^

Well, I’d better get back to work..
