The Oracle
33% Extroversion, 100% Intuition, 16% Emotiveness, 71% Perceptiveness

Heuristic, detached, and analytical to a fualt, you are most like The Oracle. You are able to tackle any subject with a fine toothed comb, and you possess an ability to pinpoint nuances and shades of meaning that other people do not have and cannot understand. Accomplishment and realization of ideas are, for you, secondary to the rigorous exploration of ideas and questions – you are, first and foremost, a theorist. You hate authority, convention, tradition, and under no circumstances do you accept a leadership role (although, you will gladly advise leadership when they’re going astray, whether they want you to or not). Abstraction and generalities are your interests, details and particulars are usually inconsequential and uninteresting. You excel at language, mathematics and philosophy.

You are typically easy-going and non-confrontational until someone violates one of the very few principles that you deem sacred, at which point you can fly into a rage. Although you possess a much greater understanding of process and systems than the people around you, you are always conscious of the possibility that you’ve missed something or made a mistake. You don’t tend to become attached to particular theories, and will immediately discard mistaken notions once they’re revealed to be incorrect (but you don’t tolerate iconoclasts who try to discredit validated theories through the use of fallacies and bad data). Despite being outwardly humble, you probably think of yourself as being smarter than most other people. That’s because you are. In fact, in your dealings with people your understanding of their motives is so expansive that you know what they’re going to say before they say it, and in world affairs, you usually know what is going to take place before it actually does. This ability would make you unbeatable in debates if only you were a little less pensive about your own conclusions, and a little more outgoing.

Famous people like you: Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Adam Smith, Thomas Jefferson, John McWhorter, Ramanujan, Marie Curie, Kurt Godel
Stay clear of: Apollo, Icarus, Hermes, Aphrodite
Seek out: Atlas, Prometheus, Daedalus

Rambling on about various things like brain farts…

Would you look at that. It’s five in the afternoon on a Friday and I’ve only got two bits of reading left to do until my homework’s all done. w00t!

Going out to eat with Marissa, Michelle, Natalie and Erin tonight. We’re all going to the movies afterwards. Gonna see US vs. John Lennon or whatever it’s called and then straight after that Marie Antoinette. It’s over at the UC and it’s only $4 for both movies if you’re a student. :)

Amazingly enough, I got the courage to speak up in class today. Usually I’m really shy and even if I think about it, my heart starts racing. But, I made up my mind that if I want to get a good grade I need to speak up so why not now? I had actually done the homework so I might as well join in so he won’t call on me when I have no clue as to what’s going on. XD

Went to the dentist’s today. Got my right side all fixed up. They’re still amazed that I refuse to take any anesthesia when they drill. But seriously, I feel twinges when they drill but it doesn’t actually hurt. When there’s that air blowing in then it sort of vihloos (can’t remember the word in English *shrugs*). Other than that, totally fine. :)

Oh really stupid thing yesterday: I was reading a section from Homer’s The Odyssey and it was the bit about the sirens. Well, that got me to thinking about that art school I used to go to when I was like 14. We were supposed to paint a scene depicting something that the teacher had read to us from lovely Homer’s epic poem. Anyway, I read the word oar. Then I tried translating it in my head to Finnish. And for the life of me, I couldn’t remember it! I came up with orja, oira (not a word!), arjo, and on and on but I couldn’t actually think of the right word. Even conjuring up the time when I went rowing with my cousin and sister couldn’t make me think of it. Then it comes to me: I’ve got a computer, why don’t I just look it up? Duuuuuuuuh. So now I do know what oar is in Finnish. Airo. *shakes head sadly* This is a definite sign that I need to read more. Maybe I could hint at it to my grandparents and like for my birthday or something they could get me an interesting Finnish book to read. Like Nuorena Nukkunut or something. Maybe something by Minna Canth… well, I’ll have to look into it.

Mocca!

Supremacy

Supremacy is a Risk clone I wrote in Shockwave a while ago. I recently found it and decided to put it back for the world to see :)

Play Supremacy

It used the original 42 countries from Risk, has no continent bonuses or Risk cards. And has a few bugs regarding the number of reinforcements it says you have. It’s also quite fun to watch six computer players play against each other…

Mini-update

I am sooooo tired. I was up for 26 hours yesterday. Then during the night I kept waking up every hour to check what time it was because I was paranoid that I wouldn’t wake up when my alarm went off. So now… well, feeling weird. I’m tired, but I know that if I try to nap, I’ll just lie in bed fully awake. So I don’t know what I’ll do. Kinda hungry, but I can’t be bothered to actually go find something to eat. Need to go buy milk though. Hmm, I’ll do that a bit later.

I guess I should unpack. I just bought most of my books for this semester. $100 and that’s not all of it. *rolls eyes* But at least they look interesting. Not that into Ovid but ah well..

Christmas Eve Eve

Julia Temisevä

*yawn* I am so tired. Should go to bed, but I just don’t feel like it just yet.

Well, I’ve finished wrapping up everyone’s presents. Did a little tidying up, otherwise I’ll get yelled at tomorrow. Why does Mom make Christmas into such a stressfest for herself? Okay, so the house isn’t spotless. Who cares? As long as there isn’t any dirt on the floor and things are sort of neat, it should be good enough. But yay, presents tomorrow! o/ I really want to give my mom her present. And if she doesn’t like it (which I doubt), well I’ll just take it. It was hard enough parting with it as it is. XD

Get to see Oliver on Wednesday. :) I was on the phone with him tonight (surprise surprise) and I was just checking at what time he can call me tomorrow from my parents and he understood what I said. ^_^ Well, just one word, the crucial one, but enough to get it anyway. Didn’t tell that to my parents though. XD

Uhm, what else? Been using the treadmill daily. Love that thing. So glad that I can finally have proper no added sugar, no added salt muesli for breakfast again. Seriously, that stuff that I’ve found from Missoula so far is ridiculously sweet. It’s just nasty. So now that I am home, I’m eating the “bird food” (as Oliver calls it) every morning. Well, except maybe Christmas Day when we have the traditional rice porridge. :)

And it’s off to bed with me now. I’ll still stay up reading most likely though. Need to finish off my current book so that I can start on the next ones that are waiting for me. Y’see, Oliver’s gotten me tons of books that I really want to read. Squee!!

So true XD

Crackpot - INTJ
20% Extraversion, 60% Intuition, 53% Thinking, 86% Judging People hate you.

Paris Hilton hates Nicole Richie. Lex Luther hates Superman. Garfield hates Mondays.
But none these even rates against the insurmountable hate, people have for you.

I mean, you’re pretty damn clever and you know it. You love to flaunt your potential. Heard the word “arrogant” lately? How about “jerk?” Or perhaps they only say that behind your back.

That’s right. I know I can say this cause you’re not going to cry. You’re not exactly the most emotional person. You’d rather spend time with your theoretical questions and abstract theories than with other people.

Ever been kissed? Ever even been on a date? Trust me, your inflated ego is a complete turnoff with the opposite sex and I am telling you, you’re not that great with relationships as it is. You’re never going to be a dude or chick magnet, purely because you’re more concerned with yourself than others. Meh. They all hate you already anyway.

How about this- “stubborn?” Hrm? Heard that lately? All those facts which don’t fit your theories must just be wrong, right? I mean, really, the vast amounts of time you spend with your head in the clouds…you’re just plain strange.

Papers and stuff

Julia Temisevä
— This upcoming video may not be available to view yet.

Yayness, I’ve completed my Shakespeare paper. And my very lovely friend Gabe read it over for me and helped me tweak it. Yes, Gabe, the nit-pickiness is very good. My teacher used to be a lawyer so he wants evidence to back up any claims that we make in our papers. I’m so relieved that that’s over and done with. I’ve also finished my extra credit paper for that class, but I’d still want someone to look it over for me.

So now I’ve got two sci-fi papers to write, but those I can just pretty much just sit down and write in one evening if I’m feeling very inspired. It’s only seven pages in total, which is what I had for my Shakespeare paper + extra credit. And those two were tough ones. So I’m not too worried.

Exams are on Tuesday and Wednesday. >_< At least I’ve got the study notes written up for one of them. Too bad it’s not an open-note test, just open-book. It’ll help everyone who has decided to deface their textbook by underlining and writing notes in it. Not me though. I just can’t bring myself to write in a book.

Stephanie’s here, so I’m gonna go. :)

Le sigh

Well, Oliver left yesterday morning. Not really a fun way to start December. But I will get to see him in about four weeks. Now only if I had a ticket to get out of Missoula… XD To make myself feel a bit better last night, I watched Bridget Jones’s Diary. It really did lift my mood. Colin Firth is just so happiness inducing. What I’d really like would be the Pride and Prejudice movie that he stars in. At least I’ve got the Keira Knightley version of it for my PSP. Something to keep me occupied during my layovers. :)

Still need to work on my grandfather’s Christmas present, but everyone else’s is pretty much finished. Well, I have to wrap them up, but otherwise they’re ready. Oh God, how am I going to fit everything into my suitcases? O_O

Well, I gotta get back to writing up study notes and working on my paper for Applied Literary Criticism. Due on Friday! Plus, I still need to memorize my meager lines for the play we’re performing on Monday and Tuesday. Augh, so much to do!

An hour left!

*grin*

He should be landing in about an hour! I’ve got my hair all nice and curled, put on a nice dress after I showered, gonna wear my new boots… Yep, I’m ready. God, an hour is such a long time to wait… But Meesh wants to go get a smoothie, so I guess that’ll kill some time.
